Context

BACKGROUND

INS Polinyà is the only secondary school in the municipality and the 2018-19 course hosts 451 students (ESO and Baccalaureate). The industrial character of the municipality and the youth of the population are the fundamental features of our environment. Lower levels of education should also be added to the population compared to other surrounding municipalities. Polinyà has always had a historical dependence on Sabadell as a provider of auxiliary educational services. It is in this context where the low level of learning of foreign languages in the municipality is explained.

STUDENT PROFILE

90% of the students of the center come from the two schools of the municipality; The rest comes from other municipalities, especially the neighborhoods of Torre-Romeu and Poble Nou de Sabadell.

During the 2018-19 course, taking advantage of the revision of the Center's Linguistic Project, a questionnaire has been passed to all students. According to the results obtained, our students speak mainly Spanish (between 72 and 84%).
